Plumb Design, Inc. Changes Name to Thinkmap http://www.thinkmap.com/
New York-based Plumb Design, Inc. has refined its mission to concentrate on the development and marketing of the Thinkmap platform and derived products. To signify this new strategic direction, the company has formally changed its name to Thinkmap, Inc. Over the last two years, an increasing percentage of customers have been looking for visualization solutions that leverage the Thinkmap platform. This change, along with the development of the Visual Thesaurus product line, has led the company to shift to a product strategy centered around Thinkmap.
Thinkmap is a dynamic, data-driven visualization technology that is designed to help end-users navigate and understand complex information. Thinkmap, Inc.'s software offers a range of visualization solutions that can be customized by each client for its own needs. Thinkmap 2.0 is being used by strategic partners to develop visualization solutions in the sectors of defense and intelligence, financial services, life science/pharmaceuticals, and professional services/knowledge management.
The company also markets and continues to develop the Visual Thesaurus, which is powered by the Thinkmap technology. Originally developed as a demonstration project in 1998, the Visual Thesaurus has recently been released as a boxed product and an online subscription service. Through partnerships with educational resellers such as Educational Resources, CCV Software, and TAG learning, the company is selling the Visual Thesaurus to K-12 schools and universities in the US and in the UK.
